I'd like to share some good news as I am very excited. Now that my husband and I have put some roots down and bought a house, I am able to pursue my passion for dressage. I have found a stable and a great trainer. The opportunity to lease a horse has unveiled itself and starting November 1st, I will leasing a 17 yr. old TB that competes Training Level Eventing. The owner is looking to keep him going during the winter months while she is away at college. So this is definitely a win-win situation as I can now better my skills without the complications of a green horse and she'll have a fit horse come Spring. Life is wonderful and I'm very fortunate to have this opportunity, especially after making a hard decision this summer to sell my own horse. God is so good.

Welcome to TX! Glad you found a trainer. I saw that you post on the HG as well. I am DJH over there. Too bad Tyler isn't closer to Austin. It would be fun to meet sometime.
Who is your trainer?

I'm so sorry I haven't responded. I haven't been on here in a while. That is my New Years resolution - to visit C.R.O.S.S. more! Thanks Walkswithsword - It's nice to be back in Texas.
My trainer is Colleen ______(Oh no! I can't remember her last name!). She, her husband and daughter run an eventing barn south of Tyler (in Troup, TX) and she takes her students to compete in shows all over Texas and Louisiana. She also breeds Oldenburgs.
I'm enjoying my lessons, but am not going to lease the TB anymore. Why pay that much money to lease a horse when I can put $$$ towards my OWN horse, ya know? At any rate, it's taught me a lot, and I can see my riding skills improving.
Thanks for noticing me on HG. Didn't the website change to Horse Enthusiasts or something?

no problem, it only took me 4 months to respond here. LOL They disassociated themselves from the HG so that people wouldn't feel like they could hold Marilyn responsible for other people's posts. This is a lot less stressful for her.
Do you have the link to the new board? I hadn't seen you around lately. Did you find a horse to purchase?
