Today is Christmas Eve. I'm thinking back to when Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem.
Last night I saw adocumentary of sorts by Oral Roberts. It was 1954 and he was in the Holy Land talking about the first Christmas. He walked along the road that Mary and Joseph probably took. He showed the stable that the baby was traditionally thought to have been born in. He also showed the house traditionally believed to be where the wise men came to worship Jesus.
He talked of how 3 things had to occur for Jesus to come.
1. Jesus had to be born in Bethlehem. Because of the first ever census Mary and Joseph had to be there.
2. The news had to travel quickly. Rome had made roads everywhere.
3. There had to be one language that everyone understood. In that day Greek was know by most.
God is so perfect. And so is His Gift to us ... Jesus!
