I heard this on the way into work just now. I'm sick to my stomach www.wsbtv.com/news/15661292/detail.htmlCOBB COUNTY, Ga. -- Cobb County firefighters battled a barn fire early Friday morning with tragic results. Officials said the building quickly burned and collapsed, killing 14 horses. The incident happened at Westbrooke Farms on 5146 Burnt Hickory Road in Kennesaw. Authorities said fourteen horses were killed when the metal roof on the barn collapsed during the blaze. Cobb County police told Channel 2 the homeowners did not want to talk about the tragedy at this time. According to their web site (http://www.westbrookefarm.net/pages/1/index.htm), Westbrooke Farms is a horse breeding and boarding facility. The site said the owners sells young horses for as much as $19,000. ****************************** My heart is just aching for everyone at that farm. My deepest sympathies and prayers for all. #traurig7#

How awful...........I boarded at a place, many years ago, that lost it's barn to a fire........my horse was out in the pasture, but some of their horses were in the barn, including their prized Arabian stud.
Losing a horse in a fire is horrific. My heart goes out to them.

Turns out that the barn that burned (one of three on site) was the boarders' barn One of the horses lost was the owner's retired GP Dressage horse, that was being ridden by her granddaughter.
